Halloween!

We don't normally do anything for halloween because outside of the fun of dressing up, I can't stand what the "holiday" stands for. But both kids had a party at school today, so we dressed accordingly.
Both these shots were taken right after Liam face planted into the ground due to my rush of trying to get photos and sitting him up against the white pumpkin on the far right. That's why his little nose is read...from crying. I must say his recovery was impressive for having to deal with such a stupid move on my part.

In case their costumes aren't obvious, Emalyn is a Cowgirl and Liam a Lion...roar!

Family Day
We visited Daddy at work today. Emmy loved getting to see him.

The big plane pictured above...that is the tail in the photo below. Big ole plane. The base sets up all their fun stuff for the kids (there are clowns, and inflatable jumping things, hay rides, etc) and we adults feed our faces with YUMMY food from Fat Lorenzo's.

Below is Liam hangin'. And Emmy enjoying gelato...my mom said Fat Lorenzo's had the best gelato she has had since visiting Italy. I think that is saying a lot. I just wish Cam and I could get over there more and enjoy it!!

Family shot...

...And a closeup. Thanks Oma for taking the shots. Just realized I didn't get one of you!

Outside TIme

Liam sat out on the porch for a bit until I moved him out to the grass on his Bumbo. I laughed at the photo on the right because his little eyes look like they are bulging out of his head from trying to take in all the sights around him.
He still has really quick breathing because he is excited by the things around him-ever since he was born he has been like that. People who don't know that is what he is like never fail to ask me if his breathing is okay-couple different doc's say it's fine, that's just who he is.
Here they are together...with the Q of course :). She is such good big sister.

On a different note, this is Emmy telling me a story during lunch. I love it because it is such a "Emmy" look that I captured--hand brushing hair from her face, eyes all over the place, leaving lunch to be had later, if at all.

Love these kids.

A Photo Shoot, of Sorts
Yes, she was trying to take one of me. And she has done fairly well operating a camera in the past....but this time?!? Not even close.

Daddy called Liam, Eminem in this outfit. I don't know...(I'm trying really hard to NOT mention a trailer park somehow in this caption!).

And of course during Tummy Time! I swear kids look entirely different when you can see their neck. Its like it was nonexistent for months, and then all of a sudden, hello!
Have a good week!

LJW-3 Mos
It's amazing to realize how perfect God's plans are until you feel and know you are in the middle of them. His hand is truly there, and has been, for quite some time. Things aren't always easy, and rather usually difficult, but in the end things work together for HIS good. You, little mister, are the little puzzle piece that has pushed my life to that point.
I love your sister and you both so much, but after she was born my hormones had been off a little bit. Now, after your birth, my hormones are much more regulated, and I feel SO. MUCH. BETTER. Thank You, God.
It is so fun to see you emerge...your giggles and coos, your expressions (priceless, some of them!) and I'm happy I can spend more time with both your sister and you since I work less. In the photo above, I think you can start to see your eye color...they are pretty those little eyes of yours.
We are working on tummy time-you've always had a stronger neck-you're pushing up like a champ! You like to look at toys that light up more than ones that just make sounds. And you are definitely trying to grab at things. Sometimes you get your fingers stuck around one of the links on the end of your toy in your car seat...you aren't usually very happy about that cause you haven't quite figured out how to let go...

But fuss? You don't! Well, hardly ever! Maybe to help yourself fall asleep...which I have to add, you are truly awesome at! Most times, I rock you for a bit, then while you are somewhat awake/sleepy and looking through little eye slits, I can put you down into your crib and off you go and stay asleep for an hour (in the morning) then a couple hours in the afternoon. If I have to feed you in the middle of a nap, you wake up, eat, then go back to sleep! My kind of guy!
You have been sleeping in a play yard next to our bed at night so far. (Basically so that I don't have to get up a million times a night...should have done that with your sister!) But now, we are starting to move you into your crib in your room. We've been napping there for a while now, but since you slept the night(!) on Friday, I think it is time to get in there and give mommy and daddy their room back. Plus, we have Mimi and PopPop coming for Thanksgiving and you need to be in your room by then! :)
You are a sweetie, so much so, your disposition is one that I envy. I love you baby boy an I am so glad you're mine.
Love,
Your Momma.

Late Last Week
We started out the day in the bumbo...kid has a pretty strong neck!

Then chilled with emmy and momma while Sesame Street was on. Man, is that show different than when I was watching. I have yet to decide if it is better or worse...right now, it's just different.
My kid's have both been pacifier kids.
I don't think I ever mentioned this, but you know that "time" when you're supposed to take pacifier's away for dental reasons? Well...I did take it away from Emalyn.
But not in some creative-wonderful-mommy kind of way.
It was nap time. She was playing. And I was tired. She decided to throw it at me to be a stinker.
Really...she knew what she was doing when she did that.
And she never saw that pacifier again.
Moral to my story: Don't play at nap time and don't throw things at Momma. Ever. :)
So onto other things (as I quickly try to change the subject!)...a peek when we are in the heat of a morning at home:
NOTE:
Emmy calmly "reading." Which, in and of itself, is miraculous.
Snack bowl next to Emmy with Cracklin' Oat Bran, one of her favorite snacks.
Liam staring in awe at his big sister...he LOVES her!
Quincy eying said bowl for any little crumb or spillage that may occur.
And, of course, in the background, the house looking like a tornado went through it...
Have a good one!
