Mimi and PopPop/Papa

My mom and dad were to arrive last Sunday3/28.

Here's Daddy and Emmy after church before Mimi and PopPop would arrive. This kid LIVES to be outside. She loves it and right now I wouldn't have it any other way!

Emmy took about 5 minutes after her nap to hug Mimi and warm up to them both. I was definitely surprised as I thought it would be at least 30 minutes.

She loves her Mimi. "MY Mimi," as she would correct me, I'm sure.

Apparently after some evening walks with Mimi and PopPop along with Quincy (of course), it was discovered that she likes to run down a hill next to our house.

She'd wait for the "Ready, Set....GO!" and fly down the hill.

I have no idea how she didn't trip or fall more than just a handful of times. Her legs barely kept up with the rest of her.

Love this next shot.

So we basically went outside every night after dinner. Well, Mimi, Emmy and Quincy did.

She wanted to climb the tree...so daddy helped her. But no good shots came out of that :(

Daddy and PopPop went to "be-be-boo" (Caribou Coffee) while we played outside. I love their Passion Fruit Green Tea Smoothie. Always have and always will.

And for some reason right now in my pregnancy, I could have one every night after dinner. SO GOOD.

Turns out she loves it too.

LOTS.

On PopPop/Papa's name: it is still up for discussion. She says PopPop to me sometimes, but when my mom was with her, she was teaching her "Papa" so Emalyn was saying that. Whatever, at least we know who he is when she references! That's all I care about! :)
More to come....

Happy Birthday!

It was my birthday Saturday.
Yes.
I'm 31 now.

I think I only feel old due to being pregnant...this time around I feel so much more achy.

It's also so funny to me how birthday's just pass now and are so much more uneventful than what they used to be...maybe that's why I feel older too.

Anyway, this made me laugh. You can even hear her say "I dan-sin!"

Lastly for my Birthday, Cameron got me a new camera.
Ours was just done.
Seriously, I think it had to be 6 years old....still takes decent shots though, so when we need a smaller camera that will be the one we use.

Lots of practicing going on....

That's what I get to do now!!

Thanks Cam! I love my gift~

St Patrick's Breastplate

Loved this photo, let alone the message when I saw it....Fly Through Our Window is where I saw it. Such a neat thing to keep in mind.

Centering

Every month, soon to be a couple times every month, I head over to my certified nurse midwife's office for my appointment. (Clarification for some: I will still have my delivery in a hospital, there is just a midwife option vs an OB. There are many reasons I chose this option and with Emalyn, I had made the same choice and liked it!)

What is really cool about our hospital though, is they offer a centering group with about 10-12 other moms that are due around the same time as you are. The appointments are private, 1 on 1 with the midwife, where we ask personal questions if any, you get measured and listen to the heartbeat.

After that, the group of us get together and we discuss what is normally taken care of in birth classes - i.e. breastfeeding, cramping, constipation, discharge, YOU KNOW, all that fun stuff(!).

Dad's are there too, and they get to hear all the nitty-gritty as noted above.

I don't mind the review....actually reminds me of some things I have forgotten about. Review is always good I say! :)

SO....Emalyn has been getting to spend some quality time with her Oma and Auntie on the Saturdays my classes take place. I'm pretty sure everyone is loving their time together. Here are some photos showing off the fun they have had:

(Obviously in the above photo, Opa was in the house!) :)

One day she realized a sock on her hand makes a puppet...she talks with them (I didn't really prompt her to do it either.) I must include that ONLY socks with ruffles on the end can be puppets (I have apparently only just learned how to be a puppeteer according to little miss. )

(Using Auntie's cell phone...)

(Enjoying boo-vee (movie) time.)

(Thank you to Uncle and Auntie in Australia for her Christmas gift. It is a really fun puzzle of Australia. Her favorite piece was the little Tazmania at the bottom. You can also note the TimTam residue on her face (those cookies are the best!) Thanks guys!)

And of course, a big thanks to Oma and Auntie (and sometimes Opa) for babysitting for us! We so appreciate it!

6 Months (3-6)

Again, I am a little late in my documentation/photographs of "the bump." Technically I am 25 weeks, last weekend I hit 24. Close enough, I say!

Emmy's will has begun to shine through. She DID NOT want to take a photo tonight. Rather she wanted to watch a "boo-vee" (movie). Which it was too late for anyway...her bedtime was in 30 minutes.

I even used Quincy to try to persuade her to be in a photo with me. Poor dog.

It kind of worked. Note the "boo-vee," in her hand.

Then she just started acting cheeky...I did have to laugh!

Both times (above and below) she is saying cheese.

FINALLY!!

Seating

She's comfy, ya think? Love this chair from Ikea-fits her like a glove. We bought two, one for little miss, and one for the next kiddo. (Please excuse my dirty glass from someone's greasy little fingers in the background...gotta LOVE what photograph's show :)! )

Just cuz she's cute....

"No mommy, no peet-oose (pictures). No peet-oose, no!"

And becuase we don't have enough, Emmy and daddy!

Numbers (en Espanol)!

The other night we called Mimi in TX and showed off Emalyn's proficiency in Spanish by counting one through ten. We've finally gotten it recorded...and boy, do I look pregnant! :)

Come to think of it, Miss Emmy is exactly 21 months tomorrow!

The quiet of a toddler...

It always freaks me out when Emalyn will disappear for a few moments and all is quiet....any mother obviously knows the quiet usually means TROUBLE. Luckily, I don't typically have trouble from my little girl. Instead, this....

this is what I usually find. God bless her, I pray the innocence never changes.

20 weeks was 2/8/10

Well, 2/8 was the day I was 20 weeks. The day we found out the baby is a boy.

But it took me until tonight to finally take the photos to show you my belly!

Hi there!

Kid you not, it literally popped out in one weekend. Friday it wasn't there, and Sunday it was.

Not joking.

So hello baby boy inside me....thanks for making somewhat of an appearance :).
