Mangoes

There it is, the size of my kiddo growin' inside me. Next week supposedly it'll be a cantaloupe.

We find out the gender on Monday....20 week ultrasound.

Cam wants to know. I think I could have been surprised, that could have been fun. But nope. We are planners.

Onto other things.....I am kind of surprised I survived last week. I fell Monday outside Emalyn's daycare. Pretty hard on my left cheek/hip. Turns out everything is okay and I have had no troubles with the pregnancy (praise God).

That night, Emalyn didn't sleep. Turns out she was constipated. Cam got about 2 hours of sleep and I think I got 3 or so. It was really ugly. She finally filled a diaper Tuesday afternoon after we all arrived home from work and school (yay-success!).

Wednesday was (thankfully) uneventful. However, Thursday we got a virus on our computer and thought we lost all our photos (that I was supposed to be updating on our portable hard drive).

Luckily they were there. Cameron spent all Friday night saving them to CD's.

Then Saturday...now I'm really going to show you all how much I deserve the Mother of the year award....I gave expired milk to Emalyn. Believe me, it didn't smell, wasn't gross, NOTHING. I promise!

She puked all Saturday night/Sunday morning until 3 AM.

This week has started off MUCH better....even though it's snowing outside right now. The commute in was horrendous this morning....but I still made it into the office only 10 minutes late. (My optimism starts small :) lol)

I am so O V E R winter. Too bad I live in MN-there are three more months of winter to be had. Tough for me!

So, here's to another week....hopefully a better one! And now that I'm thinking about it, a mango sounds pretty good. I might just have to go get one for tonight-YUM!

Misc Photos (otherwise known as playing catch up!)

Playing under a fort with Daddy-we've only just realized (meaning Emmy) how fun it is to play under a blanket. It is really sweet, because this is one of her favorite things to do with her dad. (1/26/10) Below is a fort made using the couches and other blankets....(1/30/10).

Of course next, we have our favorite place....

The zoo!! The fish in the shark reef kind of startled her because of their size, so as you can see she CLUNG to her daddy for dear life for a little while....eventually she let go a bit, but didn't wander far (and was ready to bolt in a minute)!! (1/30/10)

Here we are outside the beaver dam. It was SO COLD that day we never thought we would see the animals, however, all of them were out. Including the big ole beaver that we've only seen once before!

Ah, and now my little ski bunny. No idea how or why she wanted to put on my boots, but it was hilariously cute, as you can see! (1/28/10)

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Emalyn has learned that an "airpane" goes to the "airpote." And somehow, anytime we get in the car, we need to discuss whether or not we are actually going to the "airpote."

Man I love kid talk, just LOVE IT.

One more....when she is undressed and ready for bath she is "nuney, nuney!" I inadvertently taught her to say nudey. :) The cutest part is she rubs her hands on her tummy saying "nuney, nuney!"

Happy birthday mom. Sorry I forgot to call. I'm horrible, I know.

Housekeeping

If you read this blog in a reader, I am so sorry as I am finally getting around to getting back the photos that were lost awhile back....unfortunately that means you will be seeing new "posts" from 2007 and 2008!

For me, it is a great reminder of where I was with baby #1 versus baby #2.

So please bear with me, there'll be a lot of new, old posts!

4 months (officially 1/11/10)

I'm definitely starting to get that rounded belly look! I always feel better when people can just tell I am pregnant rather than when they stand there wondering "is she..or isn't she?"...such vanity I tell you! :)

She's full of the dickens! Or just full of something...she was flipping her head around shaking it side to side like a crazy girl and Cameron and I kept asking her to look at the camera...say cheese! and then at the VERY last second, she whipped her head to the side with that loony grin.

She's full of somethin' alright. And I sure LOVE it! :)

3 months (was last month)

Some belly shots for ya....from 12/19!

Not too much going on, but MUCH more goin' on than when I was three mos. with Emalyn! I feel like a beast and just keep trying to remember that this belly was inflated once before, so this time it will balloon a tad faster and easier!

Gotta admit, doesn't help much thinkin' like that. :)

However, now I can have belly shots like this one....and that makes easier inflation a little gentler on the ego. What a little doll I have!

Night, Night!

This is how we fall asleep now days....

And folks, that's her "By-Bo." Just like a good southerner would say.

Down in TX

Posting was sporadic after Christmas because we were in TX through Jan 2. I have no excuse for why I haven't posted since aside from being incredibly tired. So that's just going to have to do! :)

I'm pretty sure Cam and Emmy were watching The Sound Of Music, here. That is her favorite movie of all. Move over Disney and Baby Einstein, we like the von Trapps!

She was really into her stocking Christmas morning!

The tree was gorgeous, but this is the best shot I could find that I took....WOW pretty bad, huh!!??

And lastly, Emmy and Momma walking on a trail with the fam. As you can see it was kind of cold...

I feel bad because I noticed I hardly took any photos of my parents with Emalyn! I'll have to check my mom's camera sometime for some more memories! Shame on me!

Pure Joy

This is our christmas card this year. I LOVE IT.

Solely for Emalyn's expression.

Most of you have gotten it already, so I finally decided I needed to post it for those of you I wasn't able to send one to.

We were having such a fun time picking out our Christmas tree, and the second the camera came out, so did Emalyn's change of expression. She's gonna love this documentation when she's 16, I'm sure!

I suppose this also is an announcement for our next kid!

Yes, we are preg-o....well, I AM. Due 6/26/10. Cam's birthday is the 23rd that month, so we'll see if we end up with 2 birthday's on one day...the first baby stayed in a little long, so knowing my luck, this kid won't be born until July 4th!! What a party they'll have!

Here's another from that day. She's just a sweet little thing...

Wishing you safest travels and mounds of peace and joy this week and next! Merry Christmas, all!!

Pretties

So Emalyn loves sparkles. Glitter. Shiny Shoes. Shiny metal spoons.

And of course, jewelry.

Since she's been able to grab at them, I have used the word "pretty," in some way to describe the earring, necklace, whatever it may be in her clutches. Since we all know how kids love to grab and pull at that kind of thing (and HARD, mind you.) I taught her to kiss the pretties. So looking at a long, dangly necklace, she will start with "mmmmmm-"grab the said piece of jewelry, and "muah, muah, muah" until her heart's content.

It truly has kept her from pulling my earring out and shredding my earlobe to pieces. Promise.

Now that she speaks, the word pretty comes out fairly well, and we use it to describe many things, like: Her drawings or coloring. Her dresses. Ribbons. Christmas lights. Anything that lends itself to being "pi-tty." (As she would say).

This morning as we were driving to daycare, she was looking out her window and says...."oooh, pi-tty! Pi-tty." And points towards her window with her mittened little hand.

I thought, the sun's coming up , you can't really see any Christmas lights, what could be pretty right now? I glanced a best I could while driving and saw nothing of significance...until I saw the direction of her eyes.

The child was pointing at the sunrise. I kid you not. We had just passed over some lower ground where there are often patches of fog and above is a clear shot of the sky-no buildings, houses, or trees.

My kid saw the sun and its beauty and called it "pi-tty." In return, I got to stop and thank God for His beauty that I just drove right past. And it was Pi-tty.

My effort will be to stop and take a little more of His beauty in, especially during this Christmas season. I seem to miss so much.
