Little Engineer

Emalyn received a fun little toy that basically replicates interlocking gears. As you take them off the board, the gears furthest away from the motor stop turning. Then when replaced the gears turn again. Took about two days and this little engineer takes the off no problem. And realizes where the on and off button is. Smarty!

It's funny, becuase sometimes she gets her finger stuck in between the gears and I braced myself for a scream that never came. She just pulled her finger out. I tried it numeron times and realized it couldn't have hurt her (BEFORE I let her play with the toy, mind you). But I thought the shock f having her finger stuck might cause some reaction. Nope. Nothing. Tough little thing...
We met with Cameron's family today to say good bye to Emalyn's Auntie and Uncle that live in Australia. Here is a fun shot of her with Auntie Bronwyn.
And below, the Aussies...Duncan and Melanie-I swear Emalyn won't look at the camera when they hold her. Frustrating for me! I just wanted one good PHOTO....!
And for some reason I think this is the sweetest little shot of Emalyn and her Oma and Opa. Somewhat candid, but sweet.

Have a good week!

More of her Love.

Cameron also got some shots of Emalyn with thier new Love. I really hope this isn't indicative of the future because if anyone knows Cameron, TV is pretty high up there on the priority list! I have to admit, I am not too good about it either.... :)

New Toys and Preferences

We have had a new favorite toy as of late....the remote. It lights up blue when the buttons are pushed. Thrilling. I was finally able to pry it away and at least there was some interest in the things I gave her as you can see from the puckered lips of the other photo. Emalyn's first love are tags. Tags of stuffed animals, tags on rattles, tags on fabric books. We even bought these stackable fabric bowls called "Taggies" (the whole rim of the bowl is covered in tags) however, this little stinker knows the difference and only likes the REAL tag.

All the while we were being watched by this one. The Q. Nice glare he is giving us, huh?!!?

Nudey

So, I know she is going to be angry with me later in life for any and all nudey photos I may post, however, you can't see how much she's grown (or how happy she is when naked) until you can really get a glimpse of her cute little rolls. Eat your heart out! I love those little thighs!!
And again, Emmy and her daddy. Not as in focus as I wanted, but the lighting in my house stinks (not to mention it's winter with VERY short daylight time) and the flash, well, flash photography isn't the best way to photograph anything!

Evenings at Home

Here we have Emalyn exhibiting her enjoyment of singing, and a new found pleasure in sounding like a "'motorboat." (1/12)

Now this next one looks a little strange.....but hear me out, or hear at least this video! Tonight, Miss Emmy was more giddy than ever! Laughing, squealing, screeching, you name it. Just feeding her was next to impossible because she would lock eyes with me and just start laughing hysterically....so when Cameron was giving her the evening bottle right before bedtime, these sounds were all you could hear. By the way, it actually was bright enough to see in the room, but the light wasn't quite good enough for the camera.

Enjoy, I laugh everytime I hear it.

cuddly little girl

This outfit is one of the many that my Mom & Dad (Kristine's) gave Emmy for Thanksmas. My mom and I have agreed the difficulty of going into any children's clothing store and trying to resist these adorable little outfits. Everyone at daycare loved this one!

Cutie Pie

Emalyn is just so cute I thought I would have her to eat for our picnic. She wasn't thrilled about this photo idea....I spared you the angry photo face. This is much more amicable!
And of course, Miss Emmy at her finest-grinning from ear to ear with an adorable dress on after church. Man, she's a cutie!

Aussie, Aussie, AUSSIE!

Emmy has an uncle and auntie that moved to Australia (Cameron's brother, Duncan and his wife Melanie) over a year ago (2007). They have returned for a visit and got to meet Miss Emalyn today. I captured them together, however, she obviously seems a little more interested in the tissue in her hand at the moment. But, Duncan and Melanie look good-so thats what matters-we'll get another shot some other time. She really did enjoy sitting with them and playing.

Duncan and Melanie gifted this ADORABLE little coat to Emalyn. Seriously, she looks so freaking cute, right!?!?? I think you can actually tell her eyes are a hazel color instead of them always looking brown....always me pointing out the eye color. Oh well, she looks so CUTE!

The coat...LOVE IT!! It actually fits quite well and she should get good use out of it this winter as we never bought a coat for her-we were always using blankets!

Thanks Duncan and Melanie!

Sounding Off to Grandpa

So, while my parents were here in November for Thanksmas, my dad and Emalyn had sort of a dialogue that went on between the two. Everyday he would walk into the house, and the second she caught sight of him she paused....watched him a bit....then belted out...."aaahhhh." She has been sick most of the time since they have been gone, and we thought she forgot all about their "language..." until now. We were able to get it on video, and you will hear Cameron helping prompt her along....and my horrible narrative throughout (why do we all hate the way we sound when recorded??!!?)

On a separate note, we are on our way to getting better. Poor Emmy had to have another, different antibiotic since her first round because she basically revisited those ear infections due to MY ear infection. She has been a champ while on these meds though, and as of today really seems 100% (minus the drainage of mucus from sneezing and coughing). Again, she's been a trooper.

It is SO good to see that cheesy grin again.
